Ahhh, the sequel to a great beginning novel - how often do they actually hold up?

And yes - I re-read Old Man's War before reading The Ghost Brigades.

Now, while this one doesn't suck as much as some follow up novels, it doesn't quite hold up as much to the original - for several reasons.

I read Old Man's War all in one night.  That's not because it's short - though it isn't a huge tome, like The Soul Drinker's Omnibus or even Freehold is.  That's also not because it's vacuous or fluff.
